Aikuchi Tanto

“Aikuchi Tanto 1060 Series”

The aikuchi is a tanto koshirae (Japanese sword mount) where the fuchi is flush with the mouth of the saya. There is no tsuba on this form of tanto. Aikuchi tanto normally have plain wood tsuka and saya which makes it similar to a shirasaya, but with the kurikata (knob) on the saya where the sageo (cord) is attached.
