Based on the sword of the movie: Last Samurai
Laser etched on the blade are the Japanese characters: 今古有神奉志士
It supposedly means “I belong to the warrior, in who the old ways have joined the new.”
However, some sites report it says: “Serve with dignity and honor” or even “Since Ancient Times to the Present, God is with those who serve with dignity and honor!”
